Tuning Pin, Pin Block
Using exclusive Yamaha designed and Yamaha made machines and advanced rust proofing technology, we manufacture superior tuning pins. The design and use of highest quality materials plus computerized control of moisture content during seasoning and the manufacturing process produces and outstanding pin block. Precision engineering places the strings for an optimum match with the soundboard, creating beautiful tone, powerful volume and a smooth transition from the midrange to the lower registers. Superior bass strings are made by the use of in-house designed string making machines and high quality materials. BENEFIT: Better tone and durability.
Back Posts, Frames
The designers first considered how to make these two elements complement each other in supporting the large tension placed there by the strings. The world's first frame casting utilizing V-process technology places the best solution possible into the hands of the designers. Hammers
Yamaha designs hammers for each different model piano, then produces them on in-house made production equipment, using only highest quality felt. In this manner we can reach the high standard we seek. BENEFIT: Better tone, durability and quality.
Action
Designed and manufactured in-house using specialized machinery. A blend of traditional and modern day materials make the Yamaha action world famous for performance and reliability. (i.e. the traditional use of select hardwood parts, but replacing the rails made of wood by the use of more durable rails of metal. Also space age synthetic material used in some friction areas) BENEFIT: improved touch, control, repetition, durability, reliability.
Keyboard
Yamaha uses only properly seasoned, highest quality wood for the keyboard. Covering material for the keys is designed just for this need. Advanced design and manufacturing technology insures precision and trouble free movement. BENEFIT: better touch, reliability and durability.
Pedals
The outdated wood of the pedal levers and rods, which is easily affected by changes in the humidity, has been replaced by stronger and extremely stable metal in Yamaha pianos. BENEFIT: smooth and precise pedal control that lasts throughout long years of use.
Exterior of Case
Polyester, well known for superior qualities of strength and beauty is used on many Yamaha models, and is unsurpassed for the high polished "mirror finish".
