Memory Craft 11000

Q: When using the Quilt-As-You-Go technique for machine quilting, I frequently use my Walking foot. Is there a way to get a 1/4" seam on my Memory Craft 11000?

A: Yes you can. Select stitch U1, Straight stitch. Adjust the needle position to 5.8 for a 1/4" seam. If you're a frequent quilter, you may want to save this changed needle position so you can recall it later. Follow these steps:
Touch the Quick Reference Tab. Touch thumbnail image #4 (quilting). At the bottom of this screen, you will see an icon of two decorative stitches (flower and star). This is the Stitch Combination key. Touch this key, and more choices become available. Select Stitch #8, the Piecing Stitch. Touch the Adjust key. Adjust the needle position to 5.8. Touch OK.
Next, touch the Save File key. You can either save in the Ordf folder, or you can make a new folder by pressing the New Folder key. Choose a file; touch Rename to name your stitch something you will recognize later. Press OK. Press OK again and you will return to the original screen. You can now start sewing.
Later, when you want to retrieve the stitch, simply select the Open folder tab located on the right side of the screen. The Ordf folder and any folders you have created will appear. Select the desired folder. Find the stitch you saved and select it. You are ready to sew.
Note: An added bonus of this stitch is the fact it has a "P" next to a picture of the stitch. That tells you it is the Piecing stitch built-in to the Memory Craft 11000. The machine knows you are piecing, and the stitch length is pre-set at 1.8.

Q: I arranged a layout on my Memory Craft 11000 using some of the Built-in embroideries. When I stitched it out, one stitched out twice- one on top of another. What did I do wrong?

A: You might have accidentally touched the Duplicate key on the Edit screen. When you touch the Duplicate key, the second image is placed directly on top of the first and you not have noticed you had two designs instead of one.
Open the file. Press Edit. Located the design that is duplicated. Touch the Delete key. You'll delete one design, but the other will remain. Problem solved.

Q: I noticed my Memory Craft 11000 has some unusual Built-in designs called Templates. What are these for?

A: Good question. There is so much creativity built into the Memory Craft 11000! These Templates can be used as a backdrop for embroidery placement. When these are selected as a design, the Memory Craft 11000 will stitch out the Template shape as a Straight stitch outline. I've also used them for applique. In combination with the Normal Sew motifs (located within the Lettering tab), these Templates produce exquisite applique. Use the Templates to tack down your fabric., and then use the Normal Sew motifs to cover your tack down stitch. Some of the motifs include Straight stitch, Satin stitch, Blanket stitch, and numerous decorative stitches. Experiment and see what ideas you come up with.

Q: I print templates in Customizer 11000 all the time. Can I print a template in DigitizerPro too?

A: Yes. Open a design. Click on File and select Print Preview. If you click on Options, you can choose to view the design in Template Mode or Design Mode. If you choose Template Mode, the design will appear as a black and white image. If you choose the Design Mode, you have several options available.
You can view your design in actual sewing size or sized to fit the page. You can also select the Clothsetter Marking option. Whichever option you select, by clicking on Print Now, a template will print.

Q: I own a Memory Craft 6600P. Is it possible to make adjustments to a stitch and have those adjustments remain the default every time I turn my machine on?

A: Yes. You have two options. First is the Resumption setting option which will recall, when the machine is turned on, the last pattern sewn before the power was turned off. To use this option, turn on the power switch while pressing the Memory button. The Customized machine setting window will appear. Press the number 1 on the keypad. The screen will show the Normal/ Resumption display. Press the Help (Question mark) button to select the Resumption setting. Press the Memory button to confirm your selection. The last stitch sewn, even with adjustments, will be recalled the nest time you turn on yoru machine.
The other option is to store your adjusted stitch in Memory. To store stitches you must be in Mode 2 or Mode 3. Select the stitch and make your adjustment. Press the Memory (M) button the keypad, press the Recall button (top row, third from left, "M" with arrows going left and right). Press Memory (M) button once again. An hourglass will appear and the stitch will be stored. To recall the stitch, press the Recall button. Press the Turn Over Memory button the keypad to restore your adjusted stitch.
